Mrs. Oriel Weeks - Founder Member Barbados Overseas Nurses Association

Mrs. Oriel Weeks and five other Barbadian Nurses - Ms. Jenny Howell, Mrs. Pauline Sealy, Mrs. Iona Gittens, Ms. Sheila Atherley and Mrs. Calma D' Abreau - formed the Barbados Overseas Nurses Association (BONA) on 4th February 1994, in the London Borough of Croydon.

The Association aims: -

	To support homes for children and the elderly in Barbados and UK.
	To encourage and promote health education for it’s members and to liase with health professionals in the UK and overseas.
	To provide educational, social and recreational activities for it’s members in the UK and Barbados.
	To give support to member nurses.

The Association started with a small membership, and has steadily grown to over 100 members in 2003.
